Kauffman's Fruit Farm grown HONEYCRISP...Not only an apple but an experience!

An apple of the present (a most sought after variety!) as well as Apple of the Future (its popularity, for good reason, keeps increasing exponentially!), HONEYCRISP is an "explosively crisp" apple that causes people to exclaim, "WOW," over and over again! You'll love - probably as passionately as this professionally procrastinangly blogger - the light, crunchy texture and excellent sweet flavor that are hallmarks of this variety!

Introduced in 1991 at the University of Minnesota, possibly as the result of a Macoun and Honeygold cross, HONEYCRISP is also a fine baking apple and we here at the apple orchard think that folks like you should consider this variety for applesauce, as well.

Just for interesting: Apple growers and plant breeders are "feverishly" using the HONEYCRISP apple as a parent in their quest for new, better varieties. The future of apple-enjoying-experiences will continue to be just pretty interesting!

Have you wondered why HONEYCRISP apples are so expensive - with the possible exception being at Kauffman's Fruit Farm, of course? Well, young trees cost more than the average because of a royalty (payable to the University of Minnesota, you know) being levied on each and every tree that each and every grower purchases. The HONEYCRISP tree is naturally weaker than most cultivars and, on top of that, the fruit features a thin skin (wonderful for eating pleasure) that bruises easily. Then, the HONEYCRISP is susceptible to the "bitter pit" disorder that drives production costs up considerably. There is also that basic economic concept called "Supply & Demand" underpinning our free society that contributes to the higher prices you're used to seeing on HONEYCRISP apples! (Info in this paragraph gathered from woodtv.com.)

More great varieties similar to HONEYCRISP (all non-GMO, of course) which we grow here in our Bird-in-Hand orchards include Zestar and Cameo.

How does it get better than this? Without needing to drive to an orchard, you can quickly and easily order any quantity of juicy, crunchy healthful grown-on-Kauffman's-farm HONEYCRISP apples! that will show up at your front door in just a few jiffies.

We always ship apples in boxes lined with high-density foam cushioning. Each apple occupies its own foam slot for protection, and we pack the box with fruit that is of highest quality. However, we have no control over distance, storage, temperature, or handling during transit, so if the fruit arrives overripe or spoiled, we most likely will not offer a refund, although you're welcome to contact us about it. We offer 2nd Business Day and Next Business Day shipping for those customers who'd like to take an extra step to protect the fruit during shipping. This item is not available for sale in or to California, Oregon, and Washington.
