CrimsonCrisp sports an interesting "pedigree" which includes Rome, Golden Delicious and Jonathan.

Watch "How to Make an Apple Swan" Video.
CrimsonCrisp, true to both parts of its name, is the newest taste and texture sensation from our orchards here in Bird-in-Hand! Its bright, attractive coloration invites a lot of attention but, wonderfully, this variety may taste even better (click on the "Reviews" tab here) than it looks! If a CRUNCHY sweet-tart fresh-eating and salad apple is what you're waiting on and Honeycrisp is out of season (or too expensive), CrimsonCrisp just may be the one!

After you and yours have tried this "breakthrough" variety, we'd be tickled to know how you agree with the above and with the following estimations! "This apple has wonderfully breaking crisp flesh, light yellow, which is firm and dense, even hard, and more fine-grained than coarse. It holds a lot of juice and has a very good sweet-tart balance. Crimson Crisp's flavors are simple and refreshing: cane sugar and distant hints of melon, orange, and spice."

Did you notice (in short description, above) that CrimsonCrisp is related to Jonathan? Yes, that venerable old apple is a great, great grandparent of CrimsonCrisp and here an apple connoisseur with a sense of curiosity conducts a head-to-head evaluation of the two! Do you agree with his conclusions?

Clair Kauffman, our orchard manager, his wife Anna and their four children are agreed that Bavarian Apple Torte, when baked with Crimson Crisp apples as the premier ingredient, is a most superior way in which to finish a tasty, nutritious meal!

Will the good news never stop?! CrimsonCrisp is a naturally occurring disease-resistant apple (not to be confused with today's health-suspect GMO-process varieties), therefore needing fewer spray applications on our farm throughout the growing season (good for us, good for you!)

More great new, emphasis-on-flavor varieties somewhat similar to CrimsonCrisp which we grow here at Kauffman's Fruit Farm include Zestar and Cameo.

Can't find CrimsonCrisp apples at orchards or supermarkets near you? Don't sweat it! It's easy to order here, hardly takes any time and your box(es) filled with juicy, tasty, and good-for-you fruit should arrive at your front door posthaste.

We use boxes with high-density foam cushioning for shipping fruit. Each apple occupies its own foam slot for protection, and we pack the box with fruit that is of highest quality. However, we have no control over distance, storage, temperature, or handling during transit, so if the fruit arrives overripe or spoiled, we most likely will not offer a refund, although you're welcome to contact us about it. We offer 2nd Business Day and Next Business Day shipping for apple lovers who wish to take an extra step in protecting the fruit during transit. This item is not available for sale in or to California, Oregon, and Washington.
